Light therapy boxes introduced in all Northern Ireland libraries

What happened: Light therapy lamps, commonly used to treat Seasonal Affective Disorder, have been placed in every library across Northern Ireland. These lamps can be borrowed for up to three weeks.

Why it matters:

  • Provides accessible support for individuals experiencing seasonal mood changes.
  • Offers a new health resource available to the wider community through public libraries.

MNN Take: This initiative makes light therapy more readily available to people who may benefit from it, using existing community facilities to promote wellbeing during darker months.
